Projects

Apparently I've been feeling a bit crafty lately. For Christmas I made a few gifts and then the other day I made a cover for my new cricut. I really like how all three of these turned out. I did have a pattern for the cricut cover. It was from CustomCrops.com but it was a really simple pattern. The daisies on my cover are ones from my wedding! I knew having silk flowers would come in handy over the years and it really has! Kathryn said that she wanted to "hug it like its my friend". The K & R picture is the new wall decor I made for the basement. I love having pictures of my beautiful girls all over my house!

SleepOver Pictures!

A few weeks ago I took the girls to Penney's for some sleepover pictures. We had a lot of fun getting pictures taken and then the girls got to play in the play place at the mall. What a great day!!

Blogging

You know, I'm really not much of a writer and I guess that means I'm not much for blogging either. But, I'm ok with that. Here are some pictures of life with the Johnson's :-)

Piggytail Day!

Ice Cream Bucket Hat Day! (Rachel was wearing a wastebasket on her head and Mommy decided that an ice cream bucket would be cleaner and more see-through!)

I was looking through some old pictures and boy has Rachel's hair grown this year! The first picture is from May and the second one is from September (she has a ponytail). The last picture is from just the other day.

Buffalo Roundup

Grandma Pat and Grandpa Jerry asked if we would like to go to the Buffalo Roundup with them in Custer State Park. We said that Kathryn would love to go. She was so excited. She got to spend the afternoon being a big girl with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Julie. Here are some pictures she took on her own camera. (Thanks Bobbie, Grandma Pam, and Grandpa Dallas!)

Hiking

For Labor Day weekend we went hiking! We were thinking a nice easy hike around Sylvan Lake sounded like fun so we headed up to Custer State Park. When we got there a few people in our group thought that the Sunday Gulch trail sounded interesting and it was only 2.8 miles, so do-able, right? Well, we all went along so no one was left out and I think maybe the girls and I should have just played on the beach! When the map said Strenous, they were not joking! But, we all made it home, safe and sound. A few in our party waited by the switchbacks on the Needles Highway and we came back and picked them up. We all had a good time even though it was a bit more than we bargained for. The scenery was awesome! Here are a few pictures from our hike!

August?

Where did August go? I am really not quite sure what happened in August. When I look back on the month the whole thing is a blur. I think we went to the pool, the park, the library, grandma's house, VBS, and - well, you get the picture! So, sorry for not blogging in August - we were too busy having fun!

Who has the most hair?

Rachel is in the 1st picture and Kathryn at about the same age is in the 2nd picture.

Well, here's the proof, Rachel definitely has more hair at 17 months than Kathryn did. I was pretty sure but it's hard to remember these kinds of things. I can tell you one thing for sure, Rachel doesn't get to make cookies with Momma nearly as often as Kathryn did :-)

1st Storybook Island trip of the Season

I took the girls to Storybook Island yesterday for the first time this year. They had a blast and I was glad to have some help! Bobbie was there for a little while and Doug stayed the whole time. Doug - you are a lifesaver, Thank you!! Rachel, of course, was not content to sit in the stroller so she managed to get her first scraped up knees. Kathryn was off to the next thing so fast that I could hardly get any pictures taken. Here are a few of the best ones, along with Rachel's scraped knees - poor baby!

Shoes & Dolls

Well, Rachel has decided to combine her previous passion, shoes, with a new one, dolls. She has been putting shoes on and taking shoes off of dolls for 2 days! She also tries to put doll shoes on her own feet but that doesn't turn out quite as well. She's been putting blankets on dolls and saying, "night, night" a lot also. She really is leaving the baby stage. It's sad, but a bit of a relief because I feel like I can relax just a little bit now!

10 years!

Today is our 10th anniversary! God has truly blessed me with such a wonderful husband. Thank you Lord, for bringing us together!

Let's Go Shopping!

Whenever we are already out Kathryn always says, "I don't want to go home, let's go shopping!" So, yesterday we went shopping at her favorite place, Shopko, looking at her favorite thing to shop for, shoes. The worst of it is that I think Rachel is already following in her shoes! She was picking out all kinds of cute sandals and then carrying them around the shoe department. It was better than going to the park for Rachel. We were just looking but we couldn't leave until Kathryn tried on some shoes to wear next time she goes to Grandma Pam's. I'm not sure why she thinks she needs new shoes for Grandma Pam's - they would probably just get all muddy anyway!
