The Day of Kathryn's Birth

Kathryn's birthday was on Wed (Feb 10th) and we did a lot of fun stuff. I made her a special shirt to wear and she loved it! She also completed the outfit by brushing her own hair and then putting a Minnie Mouse barrette in all by herself! She is getting to be quite the hairstylist! For her birthday we volunteered at the Y for 3 hrs and then we went to Sturgis and got to see Grandma and Grandpa Great (my mom's parents). Grandma Great gave her the supplies to make a Valentine's wreath and she did a great job putting it together. She also got to see Grandma Pam and Karter's Grandma and Grandpa at the church in Sturgis. We had to run though so we could get home to see Daddy (who'd been in Chadron the last 3 days) and then go to church at our church. Kathryn had fun passing out cookies for her birthday and Rachel was moved up to her class since she will be 2 this week. Rachel is quite the little - big girl sitting quitely in church and enjoying being with the big kids. Here's a picture of Kathryn (the barrette is right above her left ear) :-)

Easter and Birthdays

Well, I told Mom that all I wanted for my birthday was to get to see Uncle Jon and his family. Lucky for me, they moved to Sturgis 2 months ago (and we still hadn't seen them yet!) So, they all came over to Mom and Dad's for a late Easter dinner and we had a really good time. The kids got along so well and had a blast hiding and finding Easter eggs. I'm not sure what we would have done without Emma to entertain all of those kids! She sure is a great helper. Then, to top off the night Uncle Jon read the kid's the true Easter story from Rachel's new board book. It was so great to hear them all saying, "He is risen! He is risen indeed!" I have to admit I also had a few more birthday requests that were yumm-ily fulfilled - Ham and Strawberry Shortcake - yum, yum! (For those of you that don't keep track of such things, Sunday was my birthday, and some think it was an important one but I'm not sure what the big deal is about turning 29...again) :-)
